RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BURNOUT SYNDROME AND TIME MANAGEMENT: A RESEARCH ON EMPLOYEE IN FIVE STAR HOTELS

Abstract

Time management can be defined as individuals and especially managers aim toa chieve the objectives and time the effective and efficient use efforts. Burnout Syndrome can be defined as a state of exhaustion in the internal energy of the person because of unmet demands, busy schedule, and the result of power failures and loss of energy. To measure the time management scale was developed by Britton and Tesser (1991), developed by the regiment and Koçak (2002) the Turkish version was tested the validity and reliability of the time management scale by Alay and Koçak (2002) is used. The scale consists of three subscales. There are 27 items on the scale. In resource used to measure that burnout syndrome scale which was developed by Maslachand Jackson (1981) and Turkish version validity and reliability was tested by Çam and Ergin (1991). The scale consists of four subscales. There are 22 items on the scale. In the research was used in face to face interviews and easily using the sampling method and analyzed 152 surveys which are screened and subjected incorrect survey examined a total of 158 surveys of employees who work in five star hotels. Hotel business' employees when applying time management and burnout syndrome scale, the data obtained in the light of the results were evaluated, it was seen vary of the management of time and burnout syndrome according to demographic variables and there is a significant relationship between lower dimensions.
