A STUDY ON THE DIGITAL COMPETENCE AND ITS DIMENSIONS

Abstract

Digital competence, knowledge is an important place in a wide range of competencies in the activities of daily living for the use of technology. The aim of this study was to investigate the students' digital competencies. Wenceslaus, Ifeoma and Lillian-Rite (2010) proposed a 60- item- survey with four-dimensions to collect data. Linguistic validity of the survey is checked by translate and back-translation method. The reliability analysis of scale was performed. Also eigenvalues of digital competence scale chart was obtained. The first 4 digital competence scale has been shown with this eigenvalue chart, the rest of factors are negligible. The date was collected by participation of 528 higher education students to apply correlation and regression analysis. Digital Competency variable which is affected by independent variables is explained 20% and probability level of 0.01 (99%) seems to be a significant level. With this study, digital competence is explored.
