Causality Relationship Between Fertility Rate and Socioeconomic Factors In Turkey: Toda Yamamato Approach

Abstract

Many reasons was found behind the fertility rate differentiation of the countries such as marital status, diseases, nutrition. Also socio-economic factors such as income level of women, education level, marital status can cause to this differentiation. For this reason in this study to understand the effect of socioeconomic factors, causality relationship between the fertility rate, per capita income, women's primary school enrollment and dependency ratio has been questioned with Toda ?Yamamato causality test for Turkey for the period of 1990 to 2011. According to the results strong causality relationship was found between fertility rate and per capita income, primary school enrollment, the dependency ratio in the long-term results
