CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT PROGRAMS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF EU MIGRATION POLICIES: THE GREECE-SPAIN EXAMPLE AND THE TURKISH IMPLEMENTATION

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to examine the citizenship by investment programs of Greece and Spain within the framework of EU migration policies. In line with this objective, a comprehensive review of the literature on the subject was first conducted. As a result of the literature review, research and studies related to the subject were identified and analyzed in detail. In addition to the previous studies, the migration policies of the EU were also analyzed in detail. As a result of the examinations, relevant information and headings were included in the research. For example, in both Greece and Spain, the condition of completing the age of 18 is required to gain citizenship through investment. These and similar results are presented in the conclusion section of the study. This research is important in terms of examining the citizenship by investment programs of Greece and Spain within the scope of migration policies prepared by the EU, identifying the similarities and differences between the two countries, contributing to the literature and setting an example for future research since there are few studies in the literature that investigate the citizenship by investment programs of the two EU countries identified in the research within the framework of EU migration policies.
