Abstract

Turkish folk dances are a folk culture element that is staged via various methods and techniques over a century. The approaching of the aforementioned staging methods and techniques on the basis of written works has been taking place since a much more recent date. In this study, the main studies dealing with the stage arrangement in the design phase of the staging process of Turkish folk dances were scanned and these identified studies were compared within the determined limitations. The main purpose of this study is to present these differences and similarities and present a perspective to the researchers who will study in this field later on. In this context, the aforementioned studies were evaluated in terms of all the features specified within the limitations and were graded whether they contain these features. This gradation is also presented in the form of a table. As a result of this comparison, it was determined that each study showed different characteristics from the other, and that the studies were influenced by each other at some points when considered chronologically.
