Abstract

Musa Yabghu was one of the prominent members of the Great Seljuk dynasty and played an influential political role during the foundation and development of the state. Due to his position within the Seljuk family, he took part in both military and administrative affairs and became particularly notable in dynastic relations and struggles for power. During the reigns of Tughril Beg and Chaghri Beg, Musa Yabghu contributed to the consolidation of Seljuk authority and gained an important position within the political structure of the state through his influence over the Turkmen groups. However, the rivalry among dynastic members during the strengthening of central authority directly affected his political activities. This study aims to evaluate Musa Yabghu’s position, political activities, and role within the Great Seljuk dynasty in the light of historical sources.
