Abstract

The Human Development Index is one of the most important indexes showing the development levels of countries. In this study, Human Development Index is formed for 27 member countries of the Islamic Cooperation Organization using per capita income, life expectancy at birth and education variables. In addition, the determinants of human development level are obtained by employing k means clustering analysis and the countries are classified as high and low by their developmental level. The results show that Brunei, Kuwait and Qatar have high levels of human development level compared to other Islamic countries.
