THE HISTORY AND DESCRIPTION OF TRUE LOVE: POSTLOVEISM

Abstract

The Arabic word for love, whose origin is “ishk”, means “severe”, “excessive love”, “the bond of heart that drags and binds a person towards a certain being, an object or a universal value” and “by man, basically to the highest being, beings or beings other than himself. It means intense and excessive love for beauty. In Islamic literature, love is used in two main senses, human and divine. Divine love is usually called “real love” and human love is called “figurative love”. Divine love has been extensively studied in Sufism and partially in Islamic philosophy. At this point, it can be stated that Mevlana and Yunus Emre play a very important role in love. Mevlana and Yunus Emre have an important role in the formation of many intellectual media even today, with their original perspectives they brought to concepts such as truth, universe, creation and existence within the tradition of mysticism. The aspects of both handling the concept of love are very important. Because both Mevlana's and Yunus Emre's view of love and their handling of the concept of love emerge as a reality that also shapes all of my sufism.
