THE EFFECT OF SCHOOL PRINCIPAL'S LEADERSHIP STYLES ON ORGANIZATIONAL SILENCE

Abstract

In this study, 250 teachers working in health vocational high schools in the four districts of Istanbul were included. In the study, the relationship between school principals between leadership styles and organizational silence. Within the scope of the study, the scale in Çakıcı (2008) was used to measure organizational silence. There are 31 expressions that ensure that the reasons for the silence of the employees in Çakıcı (2008). The scale developed by Şahin (2003), which targets school principals on leadership styles, was used. There are 32 items on the scale and there are dimensions of “transformational leadership” and “sustainer leadership” dimensions. The results, male teachers are more organized due to fear of isolation than female teachers. As a result of the research, sustainer leadership is the relationship with more organizational silence than transformational leadership.
