Abstract

The Cittaslow (slow city) as a tool for destination development has the non-commercial ethos. Respectful to historical, cultural heritage and natural resources, cities which are small but their quality of life are big, constitute the main point of the Cittaslow (Slow City) movement. This article concentrates on how destination development is conducted in a Cittaslow context. The purpose of this article is to determine the relation between tourism and Cittaslow. This study reflects the views of local officials responsible in Seferihisar which is first slow city of Turkey. The study is based on a combination of qualitative interviews and observations.
