Abstract

With the advancement of technology, the increasingly prevalent use of the internet and social media has become an indispensable part of life, especially among young people. Cyberbullying is a social issue that has emerged alongside the proliferation of modern communication technologies. This concept encompasses negative behaviors such as harassment, threats, insults, and defamation carried out through electronic communication tools. Cyberbullying, often observed among secondary school students, leads to emotional and psychological harm for victims without the need for physical contact. The purpose of this study is to assess secondary school students' engagement in cyberbullying behaviors and their experiences as victims, aiming to provide recommendations to prevent cyberbullying. Within the scope of this study, existing research in the literature will be examined to explore the types of cyberbullying prevalent among high school students, the underlying causes, the negative effects on students, and finally, propose solutions to prevent cyberbullying.
