COMPARATIVE MOVE ANALYSIS OF MARO/MERO ANATOLIAN FOLK DANCED IN SIVAS AND TOKAT REGIONS

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to comparatively analyse the dance structure of Maro/ Mero, Anatolian folk dance, danced in Tokat and Sivas regions. In the research, literature review, observation and interview methods were used. In this respect, the experts of folk dances in the regions were interviewed. Although this dance is the same in terms of rhythm pattern, it has been concluded that there are some differences in the music and movement. Some movement, style and attitude differences and similarities have been found in the dance. Besides, there are not any significant similarities in terms of musical and motifs in the writing of notes. These two dances are also in the same maqam. In conclusion, it could be said that there are a lot of similarities of this Anatolian folk dance which is danced in two regions in terms of tune and movement. There are also some differences between two regions in terms of music and movement.
