Abstract

This article attempts to examine death rituals around the ancient Turks. In the direction of the information obtained from the works of the major Turkologists studies on death, the rituals of the death occurred immediately after the death of the person, ritual of the burial ceremony. In the study, the tradition, beliefs and rituals which are composed of the society and the acceptance of this phenomenon have been examined within the old Turkish society structure. Also death considered as one of the important social norms. In this context, the results of the study in which the researchers share the results of the compilation work they have performed on the site, and the results of these studies are discussed in the literature in comparison with different researchers.
