Abstract

In order to measure the effect of ergonomic factors on employees in working life, where workplace ergonomics is very important, it is aimed to develop the "Workplace Ergonomics" scale by considering occupational health and safety issues today. By examining the question samples prepared for the study, questions that are close to each other in meaning were removed and a questionnaire consisting of 65 questions was created for the first application. 1093 employees out of 7300 employees of 16 different automotive and textile enterprises in Bursa, who agreed to support the study at the preliminary interview stage, were reached on a voluntary basis by convenience sampling method. The draft scale created was tested in the first pilot study with 201 employees. A second pilot study was conducted with 45 statements and 460 employees by subtracting 20 statements with low item load. For the third pilot study, 13 expressions were removed and a study was conducted with 32 expressions and 884 employees. The final scale was developed with the support of 1093 employees. As a result of this research, it is predicted that the "Workplace Ergonomics" scale will be developed by considering the occupational health and safety issues, it will be applicable in the studies to be done on this subject and will contribute to the literature.
