Abstract

Musical instruments, in general, are the objects of different shapes and sizes, which convert the physical vibrations into the sound. The are many musical instruments made of different materials in the world. In all these instruments the sound is made by string or by air flow or by the object itself or by taut membrane. A musical instrument is a union of several sounding bodies. And for understanding the physical background of music we have to figure out the nature of these parts. Each musical instrument, regardless of the device, may consist essentially of the main parts as generator, vibrator and resonator. Vibration exciter (generator) ?s an apparatus for power transmission to the sounding body. The sounding body-vibrator is a main part of the instrument, making sound and it is the body, which excites the sound waves in the surrounding air. The excitation of these waves can occur either transferring directly or intermediately with sonic energy emitters. An amplifier volume (resonator) is needed in cases where the energy efficiency sounding body surrounding air is too small. In most cases this occurs when the sounding body has too small surface or volume.
