The Concept of Labour Force by Occupational Status

Abstract

The subject of this article is the concept of ?labour force by occupational status?. In this article, the meaning of this concept and different ways of use are discussed. The synonymity of some terms in terms of ?labour force by occupational status? and ?labour force by occupational position? has caused confusion in the literature about the content of these concepts and still continues to cause confusion today. In the underlying groups of the concept, there are which include only ?those who are in employment? but also there are which include ?those who are not in employment?. Should this be based on a wide-ranging concept that includes those ?who are not in employment? or based on a concept that only includes ?those who are in employment?? In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of these concepts are also discussed. The concepts related to the classification of the labour force to clarify the subject were examined. Then, the composition of the labour force according to the position and status at work has been put forward. The subject of the article is defined from the terms that make up the concept and the related terms are defined and how the concept should be localized.
