Abstract

The fundamental of economic developments is the usage of production factors in the most productive way. The very first of these factors is the factor of labor. The participation of women to the labor force is crucial fort he economic growth. The ratio of the women?s participation to labor force also indicates the social structure of that country. The factors of growth, wage and education affects the involvement of women in the workfoce market. In this study, the participation of women to workforce in Turkey, and the chosen economic variables like growth, wage and education are discussed. Besides, the sectoral distribution of women employment is also reviewed. The model used in the econometric analysis determines the relations between growth, wage and education in terms of women participation to workforce. Since the common starting year of the data was 2000, only 19 data were studied. Thus, among the non-parametric techniques Kernel Regression is preferred due to its success in estimates in case of poor data. According to the results of the analysis, the variables of education takes first place by surpassing the variables of growth andwage. With regards to their coefficients the wage precedes the growth after the variables of education.
