Abstract

Musical entertainment meetings, which appear under different names in many parts of Anatolia, have an important place in a series of issues such as strengthening intra-community ties, solving problems, and socializing community members. These organizations, in which music is at the center, are also like schools where the current music culture is carried and transmitted. However, due to the development and spread of technology, the spread of mass media and migration, these intangible cultural heritages have begun to disappear. Musical entertainment organizations known as Leyli, Sabahiye (Sabahiyy) and Derderbaba, which have an important place in the city life of Mardin, also got their share from this process. With this study, detailed researches were made about Leyli, Sabahiye and Derderbabalar, which are about to disappear; In addition to the content, functioning and cultural meaning of these organizations, they have been examined musically. In the study, which is a descriptive research, the material in the field was accessed via interview, observation and oral history methods. In addition, the literature on the subject was examined using the document analysis method.
