Abstract

Turkey is implementing various external policies to expand trade with the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC). Trade relations between OIC countries and Turkey alonsgside the theory of international trade, geographical proximity, common border, visa exemption, are necessary to examine, taking into account population and other features. Turkey's trade relations in the study and identification of factors affecting the volume of foreign trade with OIC countries and aimed to measure the effectiveness of each elements. In line with the objectives, trade theories were examined and as a result, time series regression analysis was used with the shooting model approach. On an ongoing basis, to determine variables to be used in the shooting model, trade between OIC countries and Turkey, were investigated tradable products. Turkey's trade relations were analyzed between the years 2000-2017 which was carried out with 50 countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation by using Shooting Model. In the shooting model analysis, Organization of Islamic Cooperation Countries (OIC), the GDP of the country towards improving their trade with Turkey, the distance and the positive impact of the common border of the population and visa exemption has proved to be ineffective. Organization of Islamic Cooperation member countries and Turkey with the study results are set forth in the direction of the development of bilateral trade deals and suggestions.
