Abstract

While by development of communication, relations at working life become intense and complicated, problems that cause negations amd problems to be solved both for individuals and businesses appear. The problems among them arr burnout syndrome which is defined as individual?s feeling himself/herself weak in an emotional way, not caring manager, colleague, customers and believing her/his being unsuccessful, and presenteeism which especially expresses individual?s going to work even when they have health problems and their being unproductive. As the human factor is the most important factor for businesses and institutions, it is seen that these are the topics to be analyzed and it is chosen as a research subject because it is thought that both factors can affect each other. The aim of this study is to determine the relation between burnout syndrome and presenteeism (existing/nonexisting at work). By considering this, the other aim of this study is to find whether there are differences in aspects of demographical variances. A questionaire is applied to workers at Kars Social Security Institution data in paralel with the aim of study. A meaningful relation is seen between desensitisation which is a sub-dimension of burnout syndrome and presenteeism after analysis done. Besides, differences about aspects of demographical variances are identified.
